This tour runs mostly on secondary rainforest. You will be guided to hike the trails Madrigal, Cementerio, Paraíso y El Barco; that last one running close to the beach. You can admire Kapok Trees, the highest tree one on the Osa Peninsula, as well as Matapalo, Naked Indian, Balsa, or Jobo trees. You also see endemic plants of the Neotropics like heliconias, lianas, fruit trees, medicinal plants, bromeliads and epiphytes. Generally we have the chance to spot a great variaty of wild life, such as monkeys, Scarlet Macaws, White Nosed Coatis, Tayras, and a number of species of birds. This tour is this tour is 90% primary forest. Feel completely immersed in nature. We begin our journey by entering the primary forest and going up the mountain ridge where the forests grows around 400 meters above sea level, representing a totally different ecosystem from the Corcovado Tour. Once up there, we will be walking within the private reserve of La Leona. The vegetation there consists of trees over 50 meters high, many of these loaded with variety of mosses, epiphytes, and a variety of ferns. A variety of tropical animals such as spider and howler monkeys can be spotted along the way. This tour intends to educate, promote and inform our guests about the importance of protecting sea turtles and their role within the ecosystem. During this tour you will learn about the biology of sea turtles, their evolution, morphology, egg deposition, migration, reproduction, and conservation. You could also have the opportunity to witness the amazing natural spectacle of sea turtles laying their eggs. All sea turtles are endangered species. Our responsibility is supporting their survival by educating local communities and tourists. Moreover we want to assist the existing protection and conservation programmes for turtles on the Osa Peninsula.     my credit card. La Leona Eco Lodge will charge 50% of the amount 30 days before arrival and 50% eight days

    before arrival. Bookings up to US$ 250 will be debited at once.

2. When canceling your reservation up to 30 days before arrival we will charge 25% of the amount,

    from 29 days to 14 before arrival 50%, from 13 days to 7 days before arrival 75% and when canceling

    six days or less before arrival or in case of NO SHOW we will charge you full price.
