Abrams Creek Campground and Retreat brings you as close as possible to pristine nature. Tent sites are generously sized, spaced well apart, shaded, and on soft natural earth. Cabins are secluded and set into the forest. Even at full capacity, there is no sense of crowding.
You are never far from our wild, whitewater stream. In some places, it is a constant source of energy and playfulness; in other places, it is peaceful and calming, inviting you to soak in its beauty. The forest offers a vast array of plants, and signs of wildlife are everywhere.
We are not only a business, but also serve as an anchor for others who want to live more simply and close to the earth. The concept of rural revitalization means reinventing rural life so that it is economically sound, intellectually stimulating, and emotionally satisfying. All our tent sites are shaded on soft, level forest floor. Each has a Fire Ring, Picnic Table, and block-and-board bench.
To reserve a specific campsite please list your first, second, and third choices in the comments section (below, on the right), and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Everything is clean, and everything works, but stylistically it is country hodgepodge, and it shows its age in various places.
It is the kind of place you can be comfortable bringing your friends, kids, or dogs without walking on tiptoes so as not to disturb anything. If that fits your style, we think you would enjoy it, as well as the beautiful setting next to a whitewater stream. For people who delight in nature, it can be a deeply satisfying place to be.

There is no fee for cancellations made by 6:00PM the day before the reservation.
Cancellations made after 6:00PM the day before the reservation will be charged the price of one night's stay. However, if for any reason you cannot use the reservation you have made, let us know by 6 pm the night of the reservation, and you can apply those funds to a reservation any time in the future here at Abrams Creek or the Mountaineer Motel (major holiday periods excepted).
